Whoa! Gladmat 2012 jumped off in full effect yesterday. Here are some memories from day one.
Let's get this party started! Whoop whoop! The vegetable arch at the Coop booth was unique and colorful. |
Here it is again - close up. What's hanging? Carrots, nepe (Norwegian turnips), radishes, red onions, broccolli and cauliflower. |
Something new this year - festival booths between Galleri Sult and the soon finished Konserthus. |
(Very expensive but worth every kroner) wine at Hall Toll |
More wine from Hall Toll |
Glasses - spotless and lined up PERFECTLY. Don't you just adore places who pay attention to small details like that? |

Mussels (not from Brussels) in a coconut milk broth served with GRILLED bread. My verdict? The sauce was a nice twist on the usual and expected (aka nice enough but boring) white wine broth. And...that GRILLED bread. Don't even get me started - you had me at grilled. You had me at grilled. |
Melt in your mouth lightly seared beef with cilantro, large mint with crispy garlic chips in a jalapeƱo sauce. Oops they did it again - made me swoon that is. Darn good dish if I do say so myself. |
Sushi platter - mega bonus points for the pickled daikon radish but I could have done with more seaweed salad. That portion of seaweed salad is baby sized and I'm no baby - ha ha ha! |
I don't tend to enjoy dishes which look back at you but I made an exception this time. |
