Norwegian Ingredient Spotlight: Stabbur-Makrell (Stabbur Mackerel)

Who knew fish came in a tube – and was actually tasty? Hummmm. . . obviously not me until a few months ago. I love Stabbur-Makrell . It’s a tube of no-fuss, no-muss omega-3 rich goodness aka chopped mackerel filet mixed with a sweetened tomato sauce in a tube (like toothpaste). Pack a few slices of bread or a couple of crackers and poof-lunch on the go is served.

  1. Yikes! I'd heard of it ... but have never heard of anybody liking it! It's a lot neater than a tin, that's for sure. :)
