A friend of mine recently moved and left me a bag of gram flour (aka chickpea flour) and half a bag of toor dal (yellow dal-aka yellow peas) – but I have no clue what to do with either item. So I ask you Internet buddies – what dish can I use either or both ingredients in?
Drop your recommendations, tips and words of wisdom in the comments section and I’ll prepare the tastiest sounding recipe and do a review on it.

Garam flour is perfect to make batter for onion bajis (spelling?); Mix with water or egg white + salt and use for chopped onion (whichever fashion you like) and deep fry.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recipe-anything unfried you recommend?
ReplyDeleteYou can try Socca which is a dish from Southern France. An easy recipe is the one The Minimalist "Mark Bittman" makes http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9E05E6D7153FF93AA25753C1A9639C8B63
